Introduction Clovis is a small city in Curry County covering a total area of 58.2 km² (22.5 mi²) of which land comprises of 58.0 km² and 0.3 km² of it (0.44%) is water. The east-west railroad which was incorporated in 1909 gave birth to this city. Today, Clovis stands at the gateway to the Land of Enchantment, serving as a strategic location for business and industry to New Mexico and west Texas, and as a hub for a trade area encompassing 100,000 plus people. It also serves as home to Cannon Air Force Base "Americas Go To Wing". Clovis has several public parks and ponds. It has a flat landscape with undulating hills. Much of the open land is used for grazing purposes.
